Reading Comprehension: “The Decision – Chapter 13”

It’s Wednesday so let’s get ready for another installment of The Decision.

Chapter 13 – Fascination

The words escaped his lips before he knew he was going to say them out loud. As if he had learnt a script by heart and they now rang familiar.

He had no intention of taking them back. He liked his new role, his new life. He liked his bizarre conviction, his decision to face these situations without worrying, without dilemmas.

Even so, he was still ignorant as the the meaning behind the woman’s words. Was she genuinely asking him to leave? O trying to find a way to avoid killing him? Did he truly want to continue pretending o was he planning on exiting this movie?

The only thing he was sure of was that he was not afraid. In fact, if anything, he was fascinated.

Bizarre – very unusual or strange.

Avoid – to prevent the occurrence of (something bad, unpleasant, etc.).

Genuinely – actual, real, or true : not false or fake.
