Hello there, bookworm!

Every month we review and recommend a great book for you to practice reading in English. The language in these books is not complex from a literary point of view, but they do require a certain level of understanding.

The next book we would like to suggest is Gardens from the Sand, a book by Dan Cavicchio.

Gardens from the Sand is a simple, yet deeply meaningful, allegory of a young man who leaves home in search of his father. It is also the story of the journey that each of us must make – the journey to find what is important to us, what we need in others, and the meaning of our lives.

The main character, Clare, is on a quest and on this quest he comes across the essential ideas that form the basis of the world’s great religions – ideas from the Tao Te Ching, the Upanishads, the Bible, and the Budhhist sutras.

Through Clare’s transformative journey, we too discover the harmony between the world’s spiritual teachings and the universal wisdom of forgiveness, surrender, love and inner strength.

It is not a long book and is written in a simple way, almost for children. This is why we think it would be an ideal book to buy if you want to begin reading books in English.
