Love yourself!

Today the amazing Maya Angelou died at age 86. She was an activist, singer, dancer and writer. She was a poet and a spokesperson of black people and women.

Spokesperson – a man or woman who speaks for or represents someone or something.

Today we want to share one of her quotes so that we all remember to love ourselves more.

“I do not trust people who don’t love themselves and yet tell me, ‘I love you.’ There is an African saying which is: Be careful when a naked person offers you a shirt.”

Do you understand? It means that to love others, we must first love ourselves. We must take care of ourselves.

How? Well, you must eat good, nutritious food. You must exercise to keep your body healthy. You must exercise your brain by reading and learning new things.
