Remember the Story of The First Well? We all enjoyed the story of a soldier who travelled for a very long time in search of water.

This video is about a baby elephant called Rosa. Find out about Rosa’s adventures by watching the video. And don’t forget to practice the vocabulary below!

Vocabulary

Zookeeper – a person who takes care of the animals in a zoo

Fascination – to cause (someone) to be very interested in something or someone

Missed (to miss) – to notice or feel the absence of (someone or something).

Feeding (to feed) – to give food to (someone or something).

Cage – a box made of wire or metal bars in which people keep animals or birds.

Vendor – a person who sells things especially on the street.

Icebox – an American, old-fashioned way of saying fridge.

Gulp something down – to eat or swallow (something) quickly or in large amounts.

Determined – having a strong feeling that you are going to do something and that you will not allow anyone or anything to stop you —often followed by to + verb.

Screech – a loud and very high sound.

Honk – to make a loud sound.

Yell – to say (something) very loudly especially because you are angry, surprised, or are trying to get someone’s attention.

Traffic jam – a situation in which a long line of vehicles on a road have stopped moving or are moving very slowly.

Commotion – noisy excitement and confusion.

Patted (to pat) – to lightly touch (someone or something) with your hand usually several times in order to show affection or approval or to provide comfort.

Newfound – recently discovered, acquired, or achieved : newly found or gotten.

Roamed (to roam) – to go to different places without having a particular purpose or plan.

Cramped – not having enough space inside : too small and crowded.
