How to start the day well

Buongiorno!

(that’s “Good morning” in Italian).

How are you today? Did you start the morning in a good way, relaxed and happy, or stressed and unhappy?

how you start your day

In this lesson we are going to learn how to start the day in a positive way AND learn some new English words. Are you ready?

A good morning ritual

What is a ritual? A ritual is an act or series of acts done in a particular situation and in the same way each time. So a morning ritual is a list of things we do everyday when we wake up.

 1. Lemon water

This is the easiest and best way to start the day: boil some water and add the juice of half a lemon. It’s great for your immune system (so you won’t get sick!) and to give you lots of energy.

2. Stretch

Do a couple of yoga positions or stretch your legs, arms and back. If you do this every day you will be strengthening your muscles and becoming more flexible.

3. Eat breakfast

Eating breakfast is so, so important! It gives our body and brain fuel to start thinking and moving.

Cereal is a delicious and nutritive breakfast which will keep you satisfied until lunch time. Or you could have some toast with honey, some fruit and a yoghurt… there are lots of choices! Our suggestion is to make a breakfast smoothie; it’s quick, tasty and full of vitamins.

3. Have time to enjoy

Wake up on time! The worst way to start the day is by rushing. So set your alarm clock to go off 20 minutes earlier and this way you will have lots of time to enjoy your morning ritual and get ready.

Do you have a favourite newspaper? A good book? After you have had your lemon water and stretched, make a delicious cup of coffee or tea and enjoy your breakfast.

Ok, now you are ready to start the day!
