  • Mangosteen: With a high sugar (fructose) content, it’s popular in Thailand, where it’s considered a delicacy. It’s also highly valued for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, and its protection of cardiovascular health.

 

Other interesting facts about fruit

  • The origin of the word “coconut” probably goes back to the 16th century, when Portuguese sailors observed how similar it is to a human head.
  • The strawberry is the only fruit that has seeds on the outside, which it can have up to 200 of.
  • Avocado seeds in ancient times were used to make ink for writing.
  • Apples float on water because they’re 25% air. You could say that it’s an “inflated” fruit.
  • Experts recommend that you include fruits in every color in your diet, so that you get the nutrients from all of them.
