Hi!
Did you know that ABA English has an amazing team of in-house teachers? When a student signs up for our premium English course, they have unlimited access to ask them as many questions as they need. At any time during the course, they are able to email a teacher and receive a detailed response helping them get the most out of their studies. It’s like having a private tutor!
So many of our students ask us questions about their teachers that we have put together a fun interview for them.
Today’s interview is with Nikki.
Where are you from?
I’m from near London.
Describe yourself with 3 adjectives!
Stubborn – Honest – Generous
What experience do you have as an English teacher?
I have taught in language schools and done in-company classes and private lessons all over Barcelona. I’ve also done phone and virtual classes for ABA English.
What inspired you to be an English teacher?
I have always loved learning other languages and want students to enjoy my mother tongue.
What is important when teaching?
A good teacher must be very patient and good at explaining things.
What do you consider to be the major strength / weakness when expressing yourself in another language?
My grammar is good but my pronunciation is terrible in other languages!
What brought you to Barcelona (or other city)?
I studied French and Spanish at university and I wanted to perfect my Spanish and Catalan.
How do you picture yourself in 10 years?
I think I’ll be living near Barcelona with a husband and two kids.
If you could be a superhero, what would you want your superpowers to be?
I would love to be able to become invisible whenever I wanted!
HOW NICE IS NIKKI
Je n’ai pas reçu d’envoi la semaine dernière. Il est vrai que je travaille peu en ce moment parce que je termine l’écriture d’un ouvrage qui doit être rendu à l’éditeur courant juillet. Je mets les leçons en réserve pour les reprendre quand ce travail sera terminé. Merci de m’envoyer chaque leçon.
Cordialement,
J. Ferrier
hello Nikki
i want to ask to you grammar I don ‘t understand when we may use this that these or those
Do you explain me for this question
Thank you
Nicole
Hi Nicole,
Thanks for your question. We generally use the demonstrative pronouns in English in the following ways:
This; when referring to a singular object in close proximity, for example: This car is blue.
That; when referring to a singular object which is further away, for example: That car is blue (further away than the first car)
These; when referring to more than one of the same object in a close proximity, for example: These cars are blue
Those; when referring to more than one of the same object which is further away, for example: Those cars are blue (Those cars and further than these cars)
I hope this was helpful
I discover ABA English whit pleasure. Thank you a lots for help.
Hey,
