Make lots of mistakes!

Hi all of you beautiful people!

So, we have reached the end of 2013. Has it been a good year for you?

To welcome in 2014, we want to share with you a quote by Neil Gaiman, a British author:

neil-gaiman-quote

“I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes.

Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You’re doing things you’ve never done before, and more importantly, you’re Doing Something.

So that’s my wish for you, and all of us, and my wish for myself. Make New Mistakes. Make glorious, amazing mistakes. Make mistakes nobody’s ever made before. Don’t freeze, don’t stop, don’t worry that it isn’t good enough, or it isn’t perfect, whatever it is: art, or love, or work or family or life.

Whatever it is you’re scared of doing, Do it.

Make your mistakes, next year and forever.”

Vocabulary

Pushing – o force (someone) to work hard at something in order to achieve success.

Glorious – very beautiful or delightful.

Freeze – to become unable to do or say anything.

We think this is such a powerful message because we all live in fear of making mistakes; but mistakes should be our friends: it means we are moving forward.

So, from ABA English we wish you the same as Neil: that you make amazing mistakes, get up and make more mistakes, because that is the only way we grow and progress and become the amazing people we are meant to be.

May 2014 be FANTASTIC!
