Good morning beautiful people!
How are you this morning? We want to motivate you to do a little bit of English this morning. Why? Because…
“Achievement seems to be connected with action. Successful men and women keep moving. They make mistakes, but they don’t quit”. Do you agree? It means that it’s better to try and fail than not to try at all.
How is this connected to learning English? Well, sometimes learning a language is a very big goal, it can seem too big, too difficult, so we stop studying. But in fact it is possible, we just need to do a little bit every day: each day choose a small task to improve your English.
Here are some ideas:
- Make a list of 10 interesting words in your own language and translate them – then memorize them!
- Make a list of 5 phrases in your own language and translate them – then memorize them!
- Create 15 post-it notes of objects in your house, every time you see them say them outloud!
- Watch a movie (in small fractions) with subtitles. Try to understand without using a dictionary. When you’ve finished the movie, watch it without subtitles!
- Have a conversation with yourself in front of the mirror. Yes, it sounds a bit crazy but it’s good to get used to hearing your own voice speaking in a new language!
- Read a small paragraph outloud, like Nº5, it will help you practice your accent and get used to hearing yourself. It will make you feel less shy when you are speaking to another person.
- Try to learn 1 new phrasal verb a day and make 5 sentences with it.
Excellent! If you can apply one or more of these quick tips, you will start feeling more confident.
Hope you have an incredible weekend everyone!
