British people are famous for their love of tea. But slowly there are more and more of us who enjoy this delicious drink all around the world. Did you know, for example, that the country that consumes most tea is United Arab Emirates?

Vocabulary

Beverage – something you can drink : a liquid for drinking.

Astringent – having a sharp or bitter quality.

Wilted – to bend over because of not having enough water.

Oxidized – to become combined with oxygen.

Ferment – to go through a chemical change that results in the production of alcohol.

Compost – a decayed mixture of plants (such as leaves and grass) that is used to improve the soil in a garden.

Remedy – a medicine or treatment that relieves pain or cures a usually minor illness.

Risk – the possibility that something bad or unpleasant (such as an injury or a loss) will happen.

Stroke – a serious illness caused when a blood vessel in your brain suddenly breaks or is blocked.

Bolsters – to make (something) stronger or better : to give support to (something).
