Day to Day Sentences: “Think Before You Speak”

Remember when we asked what you find most difficult about the English language? 57% of you said speaking.

We want to help you with this problem. We understand that speaking is hard because it’s complicated to know how to pronounce the words. So ABA created an intonation software; how does it work?

1. Listen

2. Repeat

3. Compare

When you sign up to our “Today’s Class” you will receive an email with a video. In this video one of our ABA Teachers will explain a lesson – the grammar, the pronounciation, everything. After watching the video you will be able to listen to the sentence, record your own voice and then compare. Are you doing it well? If so, great job! If not, just repeat until you sound perfect!

We’d love to know what you think, so let us know in the comments section!

This is one of Sarah’s “Today Class”. She will teach you the sentence “Think Before You Speak”:

Have you signed up for Today’s Class yet? You will receive 3 free emails a week with lessons from our English Teachers.

And if you’d like to know more about using “can” and asking permission in English, sign up to ABA’s Online Course for more infomation.

    • Hi Mahesh!

This is quite a common problem; and it’s usually caused from lack of practice. Your brain adapts to speaking in a specific language, despite being able to read and write fluently in another.

My recommendation is to speak out loud. It would be ideal to meet an English speaker to practice in person. But if that’s not possible, try speaking aloud to yourself at home. You will get used to speaking out loud, you will get used to hearing your own voice and it will give you confidence.

Also, remember that accents are beautiful: it tells people of your origin 🙂

      I hope that helped!
