A Passage from Roald Dahl

A passage is a usually short section of a book, poem, speech, etc.

The following passage is from a Roald Dahl book. Roald Dahl was a British novelist, short story writer, poet, fighter pilot and screenwriter. Many children in England grew up listening to his magical stories.

Vocabulary

Wonky – not straight or steady.

Crooked – not straight.

Double chin – to have another chin under your actual chin. Usually over weight people have double chins.

Stick out – to extend outward beyond an edge or surface.

Sunbeams – a ray of sunlight.
